Ubuntu Village Newsletter March 2026

Building Hope. Restoring Dignity. One Family at a Time.

A Message from the Heart

There’s something deeply human about sharing, about seeing someone struggle and deciding, “I won’t look away.” In this spirit, we welcome you to the Ubuntu Village Newsletter March 2026.

At Ubuntu Village, this belief continues to guide us every single day. The idea that “I am because we are” is not just something we say; it’s something we live. It shows up in every food basket delivered, every school need provided, and every opportunity created.

This past month has reminded us that impact is not always loud or dramatic. Sometimes, it’s quiet. It’s a child going to bed with a full stomach and a parent breathing slightly easier. It’s about someone being given a chance they never thought they would have.

These are the moments your support makes possible.

A Second Chance Through Art

Somewhere in our community, a young artist sat with talent but no tools. The ideas were there. The passion was there. But without materials, that passion was slowly fading into frustration and despair.

We stepped in.

With just a bit of support, basic supplies, and a small push, everything changed. What was once uncertainty became momentum again. That artist is now creating, expressing, and slowly rebuilding confidence in their craft. With his studio now established, we look forward to displaying his paintings soon.

It’s easy to overlook art when people are struggling to meet basic needs. But art matters. It gives people identity. It gives them a voice. And occasionally, it becomes the spark that helps someone rediscover their muse.

Uganda: Small Support, Big Relief

Our work in Uganda continues to remind us that behind every statistic is a real story, a real family trying to get through the day.

Two Students, Two Dreams Still Alive

There are two students we supported this month. Nothing extraordinary on paper, just school support and food.

But in reality, it meant everything.

It meant they didn’t have to sit in class distracted by hunger. It meant they could show up, focus, and feel like they belong there, like their future matters.

Because the truth is, many children drop out of school for reasons other than a lack of desire to learn. They drop out because life becomes too heavy.

This month, life became a little lighter for these two students.

Food on the Table, Peace in the Home

We also reached two families in Uganda with food support.

One of them is the family of a student we are supporting. The other is a household that has been quietly struggling, doing everything they can just to get by.

When we delivered those food baskets, it wasn’t just about nutrition. It was about relief.

Relief from constant worry.
Relief from the stress of not knowing what tomorrow will look like.
Relief that, at least for now, things will be okay.

Sometimes, the biggest impact is simply giving someone a moment to breathe.

Kenya: Showing Up Where It’s Needed Most

In Kenya, the situation is not so different. Many families are doing their best with very little, and often, all it takes is a small intervention to change everything.

Four Families, One Shared Struggle

This month, we supported four families with food baskets.

Four households. Different stories. Same reality, trying to survive in difficult conditions.

For these families, this support meant:

  • Children didn’t have to go to bed hungry.
  • Parents didn’t have to make impossible choices between food and other basic needs.
  • Homes that felt heavy found a bit of light again.

Food doesn’t solve everything. But it creates a starting point. And occasionally, that’s exactly what a family needs to begin again.

A Skill That Changes Everything

We also supported one individual with driving lessons.

It might seem like a small thing. But it’s not.

In numerous communities, acquiring a skill such as driving can create tangible opportunities for employment and income. It can make the difference between depending on others and being self-sufficient.

For this individual, the journey is more than learning how to drive. It’s about reclaiming control over their future.

And that’s the kind of change that lasts.

Why This Matters — Really

If there’s one thing this month has shown us, it’s this:

People are not hopeless. They are not helpless.
They are simply waiting for a chance.

A chance to eat.
A chance to learn.
A chance to work.
A chance to be seen.

And when that chance comes, even in the smallest form, something shifts.

That’s what your support does. It creates that moment.

Solar Power Initiative Uganda

We plan to move forward with our Solar Power Initiative in Uganda, starting in May 2026. This ambitious initiative aims to harness Uganda’s abundant year-round sunlight to deliver sustainable energy solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on clean energy and climate action for communities in need.

Looking Forward

We take pride in our accomplishments. But we’re also aware of how much is still ahead.

There are more families we haven’t reached yet.
More children are at risk of leaving school.
More individuals are ready to work if only given the opportunity.

We don’t see the situation as overwhelming. We see it as a call to do more.

And we know we cannot do it alone.

Walk With Us

If you’ve ever wondered whether your support makes a difference, it does.

It shows up in homes you may never visit.
In smiles you may never see.
Life is quietly changing for these families.

We invite you to continue walking this journey with us.

With your help, we can reach further, do more, and create lasting change, one family at a time.
